Job description

The Role

This is a dual project management and business development position built for someone who thrives at the center of the action. You will be the connective tissue between our designers, sales team, vendors, and installers β€” keeping indoor, outdoor, and ADA signage projects moving on brand, on budget, and on time β€” while actively developing new business and deepening existing accounts.

If you are organized, personable, and comfortable moving between the drafting table, the job site, and the client meeting, this role gives you room to grow with a company that's scaling fast.

What You'll Do

Project Management

β€’ Coordinate signage projects end-to-end across designers, sales, vendors, and installers to keep every job on schedule and on budget.

β€’ Manage timelines, budgets, purchase orders, and deliverables from award through final installation and closeout.

β€’ Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, general contractors, and trades throughout the project lifecycle.

β€’ Source, quote, and manage fabricators, subcontractors, and installers; verify scope, pricing, and quality against spec.

β€’ Interpret design intent, sign packages, permit requirements, and ADA/code compliance for indoor and outdoor signage.

β€’ Track project status, flag risks early, and drive issues to resolution before they impact schedule or margin.

Business Development

β€’ Develop new business through outreach, referrals, and relationship-building with architects, designers, GCs, and end clients.

β€’ Prepare and present proposals, quotes, and estimates that win work and protect margin.

β€’ Grow and maintain existing accounts, identifying opportunities to expand scope on active and repeat projects.

β€’ Represent Modulex Chicago professionally at client meetings, site walks, and industry events.

What You Bring

β€’ 2–5 years of experience in project management, business development, or account management β€” ideally in signage, construction, architecture, fabrication, or a related field.

β€’ Proven ability to juggle multiple projects and deadlines without dropping details.

β€’ Strong communication and relationship skills; comfortable in front of clients and on a job site.

β€’ Working knowledge of the design-build process; familiarity with signage, wayfinding, or ADA requirements is a strong plus.

β€’ Comfort reading drawings, sign packages, and scopes of work.

β€’ Proficiency with standard business and project software; ability to learn our eModulex platform.

β€’ Self-starter mindset who wants ownership and room to grow with an expanding team.

β€’ Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to local job sites and client meetings as needed.
