Position Description

The Maintenance Assistant should support the Maintenance Director in carrying out various facility improvements, preventative tasks & repairs to assure that the facility is maintained in a safe and comfortable manner. We’re excited for you to come and join our accomplished staff of medical professionals!

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensures that established infection control & standard precaution practices are maintained when performing maintenance procedures.
  • Follow established policies governing the use/disposal of personal protective equipment and disposal of infectious waste.
  • Perform routine maintenance on grounds, parking areas, driveways etc. by cutting, trimming, policing, sweeping, snow removal, etc., as necessary/directed.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repair on the facility and equipment to include plumbing, plastering, electrical, carpentry, mechanical, etc., as directed, in accordance with established policies.
  • Service heating and cooling units/systems, as specified by the manufacturer, and in compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Must possess, at minimum, a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in maintenance role.
  • Sound knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electric, carpentry & mechanical systems (including relevant equipment & tools).
  • Experience working in a healthcare, long-term care environment or with the elderly preferred.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations preferred.
