Work Study Student Assistant-Shipping/Receiving (Pool)

Position Information

Job Title - Work Study Student Assistant-Shipping/Receiving (Pool)

Position Status - Work Study

Classification Title - CWS-Up to 15 hpw

Work Location - Main Campus-3600 N. Garfield, Midland, TX

Job Summary - Assist with shipping, receiving, and delivery of items from freight companies including processing necessary documents and confirming receipt of such items.

Required Qualifications - Must be a currently enrolled student and registered for classes. Must meet all Work Study eligibility requirements through the Financial Aid Office. Must possess a valid Texas Driver's license, good driving record, and be insurable on Midland College's insurance policy.

Preferred Qualifications

Essential Functions - Receiving and checking in shipments from various freight companies including FedEx and UPS. Delivery of shipments to the correct departments on the College campus. Safely drive a golf cart. Must follow safety guidelines and utilize proper lifting and carrying techniques. Other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands - Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time. The person in this position needs to occasionally move or drive to other locations on and off campus. Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation. Use of manual dexterity. Capable of climbing stairs, balancing, stooping, and repetitive twisting. The person in this position frequently communicates with others; must be able to exchange accurate information. Frequently moves boxes or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds. Duties indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.

Security Sensitivity - All Midland College positions are security-sensitive and subject to Texas Education Code 51.215, which authorizes the employer to obtain criminal history record information. An employment offer is contingent on completion of a satisfactory criminal background investigation.

Min Salary - $9.20 per hour

Max Salary - $9.20 per hour
