Job description

Position Overview:
As the Security and Surveillance Security Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of warehouse personnel, inventory, and assets within the distribution network. This role focuses on monitoring surveillance systems, patrolling premises, enforcing security policies, and responding to security incidents. The Security and Surveillance Officer works closely with warehouse staff, risk management teams, and law enforcement agencies to prevent theft, unauthorized access, and other security threats.
Responsibilities:
  • Monitor CCTV cameras, alarm systems, and access control points to detect suspicious activity.
  • Conduct regular security patrols inside and around the warehouse, ensuring doors, gates, and entry points are secure.
  • Enforce badge access policies, visitor check-ins, and contractor screening procedures.
  • Investigate and report any unauthorized access, security breaches, or safety concerns.
  • Observe and deter theft, vandalism, and fraudulent activities within the facility.
  • Assist in inventory audits, shrinkage investigations, and cargo security monitoring.
  • Report and document missing, damaged, or stolen goods to the Security Supervisor.
  • Collaborate with loss prevention teams and warehouse personnel to ensure product protection strategies are implemented.
  • Respond promptly to security alarms, emergencies, and suspicious behavior.
  • Assist in handling workplace disturbances, conflicts, and safety violations.
  • Provide first aid or emergency assistance when needed.
  • Coordinate with law enforcement and emergency responders during critical situations.
  • Ensure compliance with company security policies, OSHA regulations, and industry safety standards.
  • Conduct fire safety inspections, emergency drills, and access control compliance checks.
  • Maintain detailed incident reports, security logs, and daily activity records.
  • Educate employees on security awareness, theft prevention, and workplace safety.
  • Perform routine system checks on surveillance equipment, alarms, and security devices.
  • Report any malfunctions or system failures to the Security Supervisor or IT team.
  • Utilize handheld security devices, scanners, and communication tools for patrols and monitoring.
  • Performing other duties as assigned by leadership

Schedule:
  • 40-hour work week, with two consecutive days off. Overtime is available, overtime is voluntary and sometimes mandatory to meet work requirements
  • Days TBD
  • 2nd shift 3:00pm - 11:00pm
  • 3rd shift 11:00pm - 7:00am

Compensation:
  • $17.00 per hour
  • $.50 per hour shift differential for 2nd shift
  • $1.00 per hour shift differential for 3rd shift

Environment:
  • Varying temperatures based on indoor and outdoor environments

Experience:
  • Preferred: One (1) years of experience in security, law enforcement, or loss prevention, preferably in a distribution, warehouse, or logistics environment
  • Required: Valid security guard license or certification and drivers license (as required by state or local laws).
  • Preferred: Associate's degree in Criminal Justice or Security Management preferred
  • Preferred: Prior experience operating CCTV monitoring systems, alarm response, or security patrols is a plus.
  • Preferred: Knowledge of OSHA, DOT, and industry security compliance regulations preferred.
  • Preferred: Proficiency in English (written and verbal) to effectively communicate with associates and leadership
