Job description

Position Title: Security Supervisor - Security Department
Full Time
Night Shift
Compensation: $52K to $81K

Position Purpose: Supervises, monitors and provides security for patients, staff and visitors. protects hospital buildings, assets and premises as assigned. Acts as Security Department shift supervisor for the B Shift or C Shift.
Essential Functions (list in order of importance including measures)
  1. Assumes supervisory responsibility/accountability for B Shift or C Shift staff and activities for the applicable shift daily.
  2. Supervises and monitors security activities in assigned areas to ensure secure and safe conditions for patients, staff and visitors and inspects work performance/assignments and recommends improvements in work methods.
  3. Prepares work schedules for assigned shift and daily shift assignments.
  4. Performs electronic time sheet or payroll reports/records for B Shift or C Shift staff.
  5. Evaluates work performance and makes recommendations for staff actions on B Shift or C Shift. Participates with the Security Manager and/or the Assistant Security Manager in the Introductory Period Evaluation and the Annual Evaluation process as well as goal setting.
  6. Ensures that Security Officers on the applicable shift comply with appropriate policies and procedures as well as completing the logbook.
  7. Conducts investigations, maintains records and prepares incident reports and other documents pertaining to security. Reviews incident reports submitted by others for completeness and accuracy.
  8. Prepares written documentation as required by the profession and the department. Maintains department records, reports and files as required.
  9. Assists with ensuring staff wear appropriate ID badges and issuing hospital ID.

  10. Collaborates with local, state and national agencies relative to hospital security investigations; directs and escorts agency personnel to hospital buildings and premises.
  11. Fulfills security staff job requirements as Supervisor included in the security staffing for applicable shift.

  • Performs both essential and marginal job functions in a safe manner as identified by Saint Anthony Hospital and the respective department while adhering to the Hospital's confidentiality norms and standards. Actively and consistently demonstrates the core values of Saint Anthony Hospital in all interactions with others.
  • Assumes responsibility for knowing and maintaining established hospital and departmental objectives, policies/procedures including general sanitation, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
  • Participate in performance activities including problem identification, data collection, solution selection, implementation and evaluation. Also assists in the care and maintenance of departmental equipment and supplies as appropriate.
  • Participate in staff meetings and other services, meetings or committees as required.
  • Maintains patient rights by respect for patient and employee needs such as confidentiality and privacy.

Requirements
  • Demonstrates excellent customer service skills
  • Previous experience in a supervisory role preferred
  • Training and knowledge related to conflict resolution and management of aggression
  • 5 plus years of previous security experience
  • Current IL Driver's License and minimum of 20-Basic Security Training
