Job description

We're Looking For A: Creative Video Strategist

Location: Hybrid (Burbank/North Hollywood, CA)

The mission of this role is to concept, script, and direct high-performing paid social video ads that drive customer acquisition and growth. This role partners closely with internal production, post-production, and marketing teams to develop, test, and optimize performance creative across paid channels.

What You'll Be Doing: 

  • Write and direct video ads with the goal of selling products using a data-driven, test-and-learn approach.
  • Come up with fresh and innovative concepts/angles for ads and write scripts.
  • Direct actors and/or celebrity brand partners to elicit authentic and persuasive performances; Formulate and ask interview questions that elicit the most compelling soundbites.
  • Work with videographers to gather video assets (i.e.identify needed video cover, set-up locations and direct videographers to shoot b-roll).
  • Provide on-set leadership in collaboration with Production Supervisor, production team, and camera crew.
  • Collaborate with editors from pre-production to delivery, including providing feedback on edits, assist conceiving of graphics and on-screen text.
  • Analyze performance data, and use data to create incremental video optimizations that scale.
  • Leverage AI tools (e.g., for ideation, scripting, editing support, and performance analysis) to accelerate creative production, generate new ad concepts, and enhance testing velocity; stay current with emerging AI capabilities and incorporate them into the creative workflow.

Qualifications (Note: We strongly encourage you to apply even if you don't tick ALL of these boxes.):

  • 3-5+ years of experience in creative strategy, performance marketing, or direct response advertising
  • Experience writing and directing in fast-paced, digital-first environments (UGC, branded content, social, or creator economy ideal)
  • Exceptional concepting and storytelling skills
  • Mastery of on-set creative leadership and understanding of how to successfully direct celebrity partners and actors
  • Ability to formulate strategies on how to market petcare products in fresh, creative and different ways.
  • Understanding of direct response marketing.
  • A highly creative self-starter who can work both independently and collaborate well with different teams
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.
  • Available to drive, and occasionally travel, to locations in order to film and gather footage and conduct interviews
  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Experience, preferably in Marketing, Human Studies, or a related field.
  • Experience applying AI tools to paid social ad creative (e.g., for concepting, scripting, or iteration) is a strong plus.

The base salary range is $75,000-$100,000, plus bonus potential.
