Our Opportunity
Exponent is currently seeking an energetic and talented Multimedia Specialist for our Visual Communication Group in our Los Angeles, CA; Menlo Park, CA; Atlanta, GA; New York, NY; Natick, MA; Tampa, FL; Houston, TX; Phoenix, AZ; or any other U.S. office. In this role, you will work as part of a talented team that works directly with engineers and scientists on many exciting and fast-paced projects creating animations, graphics, visualizations and interactive presentations. This work will clearly communicate and demonstrate complex real-world scenarios, accident reconstruction, failure analysis and engineering concepts. These data-driven workflows and visualizations will be utilized to assist with analysis and event reconstruction as well as being an effective communication tool, presented to clients, industry experts and jurors in trial.
You will be responsible for
  • 3D modeling, animation, lighting, texturing, and rendering with an emphasis on technical/geometrical accuracy
  • Managing visualization projects, including proposals, budgeting, communicating progress, collaboration, iterative process and final deliverables
  • Leveraging versatile skills and tools to directly assist/collaborate with engineers and scientists on technical analyses
  • Conceptualizing visualization projects with engineers and scientists while contributing creative expertise and aiming for the most effective communication solution/work product
  • Working with data such as laser scans, CAD, and motion simulation
  • Compositing/editing project assets into final deliverable
  • Production of graphics and presentations that effectively convey complicated concepts and scenarios

You will have the following skills and qualifications
  • B.S./B.A. in Animation, CAD, and Digital Video Production-related fields
  • 3-5 Years of experience in forensic/scientific/engineering visualization
  • Expertise in Autodesk 3D Studio Max
  • Extensive Experience in Vrayrendering
  • Extensive Experience in 3D Studio Max's Biped animation tools
  • Proficiency in Adobe After Effects, Illustrator, and Photoshop
  • Experience working with laser scan data
  • Proactive and effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and time-management capabilities
  • Creative thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Team player who demonstrates leadership potential and can effectively interact with technical and non-technical people
  • Self-motivated learner
  • Interest in science and engineering concepts
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
  • Prior experience with accident reconstruction, photogrammetry (Photomodeler), camera matching, and video analysis a plus
  • Knowledge of creating interactive 3D scenes using real-time engines a plus (Unity, Unreal, Simlab, etc.)

Compensation
Our employees are rewarded for their technical and business contributions and have an opportunity to plan for future success and career growth. Exponent's total compensation plan is consistent with its expectations of the quality and quantity of work performed and with the professional standards set by Exponent. Total compensation includes base salary, annual bonus and 401(k) employer contribution of 7% of base salary.
The base salary range for this position is $125,000 - $135,000 dependent on experience and capabilities which will be assessed during the interview process.
