The Assistant Project Manager will oversee projects from preconstruction through completion, working closely with field teams and collaborating with operations leadership to ensure successful delivery. This role is best suited for a hands-on, execution-focused professional who thrives in problem-solving and team coordination. Client Details This Reno base company is a well- established commercial general contractor with decades of combined leadership experience, delivering high-quality projects across a range of complex building sectors. Known for a hands-on, team-driven approach, they focus on precision, reliability, and long-term client partnerships across every phase of construction. Description Lead full lifecycle project management on public works construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. Manage project execution including budgets, schedules, cost control, buyout, procurement, and financial reporting. Oversee RFIs, submittals, change orders, pay applications, and project documentation using modern construction management tools. Collaborate closely with preconstruction and design teams during early planning, estimating, and scope development. Develop and maintain project schedules while supporting subcontractor procurement and buyout activities. Maintain strong relationships with public agency clients and stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and responsiveness. Coordinate with superintendents, engineers, and design partners to ensure successful field execution. Track project financial performance including cost reporting, forecasting, and margin analysis. Lead project coordination meetings with internal teams, field staff, and external stakeholders. Support junior staff development and assist with resource and staffing planning across active projects. Uphold a culture of accountability, transparency, and consistent delivery within a public-sector environment. Profile 2+ years of progressive experience in commercial construction project management. Strong background in CM or design-build project delivery. Proven ability to manage complex projects through all phases of construction. Comfortable working in a tech-forward environment (e.g., Procore, Revit, scheduling and ERP tools). Strong communicator with a collaborative, transparent, and team-oriented approach.
