Job description

About ECC:

Work Schedule:
Up to 25 hours. Monday - Thursday, 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm; Saturday, 8:45 am to 2:00 pm. Must be willing to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the department.
Rate of Pay:
This is a Part-Time Support Staff position at grade 9, with an hourly pay rate of $16.64 to $19.18. The offer will be based on education and experience, in alignment with the College’s compensation philosophy and the current Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), if applicable.

Job Summary:
Provide support to library patrons at the circulation desk. Assist patrons in the use of library services. Maintain patron records in computer system.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
1. High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
2. Two years library experience, including familiarity with library automation system.
3. Basic computer experience.
4. Strong customer service skills.
5. Keyboarding

Essential Duties:
1. Check in and check out library materials, place item holds and renew materials. Enter and update patron records in the library computer system.
2. Check on availability of library materials, assist patrons in locating library materials and refer patrons to reference librarians when needed.
3. Accept fines and maintain fine records in accordance with library policies and procedures.
4. Work with patron records and student accounts concerning student library restrictions. Use campus computer system to remove or modify student restrictions.
5. Maintain appearance of the library; arrange shelved materials in proper order.
6. Assist in supervision, maintenance, and use of computers, printers and copy machines.
Other Duties:
1. May assist technical processing specialist in the process of book ordering, updating records, etc.
2. May assist librarian in processing inter-library loan tasks using online computer systems.
3. Perform other job-related duties as assigned which pertain to the job description.
4. Ability to work a flexible schedule which includes days/evenings/weekends as needed by the department.
