Assistant Rowing Coach Jobs in Seattle, WA (NOW HIRING)

Holy Names Academy is seeking a part-time, year-round assistant crew coach. The Holy Names Academy Crew team was founded in 1993 and continues to be an integral part of the school’s strong and successful athletic program, competing in nationally attended regattas such as Head of the Charles and Youth Nationals. The team currently maintains a roster of 50 - 70 rowers and trains out of the Lake Washington Rowing Club boathouse. Practices are held Monday-Friday (3:15 - 6:15pm) from late-August through mid-May with weekend regattas in the fall and spring. Post-season and summer camp coaching opportunities are available.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high quality instruction in rowing and related cross-training activities for student-athletes.
• Coordinate with the Head Coach to implement seasonal training plans. 
• Collaborate with fellow coaches to foster a positive, inclusive, and growth-oriented learning environment.
• Provide onsite support as needed at regattas.
• Build professional relationships with parents and families.
• Assist the Head Coach with recruiting and athlete retention efforts. 
• Support student athletes in their academics and personal development.
• Assist the Head Coach with equipment fleet maintenance and management, where relevant.
• Serve as an enthusiastic and engaged representative of the HNA Crew program. 
• Ensure compliance with school policies and safety standards.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Experience and expertise in the sport - One or more years of rowing coaching experience, preferably at the high school or college level.
• History of competitive sweep rowing at the high school or collegiate level. 
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Current First Aid and CPR certifications (or be willing to obtain certification prior to season).
• Washington Boater’s Education certification and ability to drive and operate motorized coaching launch.
• 25 years of age or older (to drive HNA vehicles)
• Possess a valid Washington State Driver's License.
• Must be willing and able to drive a 14-passenger minibus (training provided).
• Successful completion of a criminal background check, fingerprints and Safe Environment training prior to start of season. 
• Compliance with all Holy Names Academy, Lake Washington Rowing Club, and USRowing policies and procedures.

Compensation & Benefits:

• Salary Range by season, assuming 5 days/week, commensurate with experience. 
  • Fall 2026 Season: $4,300 - $4,500, paid over the season. 
  • Winter 2026-2027 Season: $3,400 - $3,900, paid over the season. 
  • Spring 2027 Season: $6,700 - $7,200, paid over the season.
