Job Summary

Wagner Roofing Company is seeking a dependable and hardworking Warehouse Worker and Company Driver to join our team. This dual-role position is responsible for efficiently managing warehouse operations, such as organizing inventory and preparing materials, while also ensuring the timely delivery and transportation of goods, tools, and materials to job sites. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and holds a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Role and Responsibilities

Warehouse Operations:

  • Receive, inspect, and organize incoming inventory, materials, and tools.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure materials are properly stored and labeled.
  • Prepare materials and equipment for roofing crews based on job site requirements.
  • Perform routine inspections of warehouse tools, equipment, and vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition.
  • Keep the warehouse clean, organized, and free of safety hazards.

Material Preparation:

  • Handle materials safely, including heavy lifting of up to 50 lbs.
  • Ensure all materials and tools correspond to work orders and project needs.
  • Pull, stage, and load materials and equipment for daily job site deliveries.

Driving and Delivery:

  • Ensure materials are delivered in a timely manner to meet project deadlines.
  • Assist in maintaining and cleaning delivery vehicles.
  • Adhere to traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies while operating vehicles.
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including necessary documentation (e.g., delivery tickets, invoices).
  • Verify delivery details and job site requirements before leaving the warehouse.
  • Load and unload roofing materials while ensuring safe transport and proper handling.
  • Safely drive company vehicles to transport roofing materials, tools, and supplies to job sites.

Customer and Team Support:

  • Assist roofing crews with on-site material handling as needed.
  • Provide excellent customer service when interacting with internal teams and external vendors.
  • Communicate effectively with job site supervisors, roofing crews, and warehouse staff to ensure accurate delivery and inventory handling.

General Labor:

  • Perform other tasks as required by management, including assisting with warehouse organization or minor equipment repairs.
  • Provide general assistance to field crews as needed, including moving materials and helping with job site setup and cleanup.

Safety and Compliance:

  • Complete required safety training/ requirements such as DOT.
  • Report any safety concerns, vehicle issues, or equipment malfunctions to the supervisor promptly.
  • Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures while working in the warehouse and on the road.

Equipment Maintenance:

  • Report any vehicle and/or equipment malfunctions to your supervisor promptly.
  • Maintain and care for vehicles and equipment to ensure they are in good working condition.

Team Collaboration:

  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues to ensure project goals are met.
  • Mentor less-experienced crew members.
  • Work collaboratively and effectively with other team members, taking directions from the site leads.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to lift up to 80lbs and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Basic knowledge of warehouse operations, including inventory management.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends as needed.
  • Experience driving a 20+ foot box truck.
  • Knowledge of basic vehicle maintenance and inspection procedures.
  • Must pass a DOT physical examination.
  • Forklift certification (or willingness to obtain one).

Preferred Skills:

  • Previous experience in warehouse operations, driving, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with roofing materials and tools.
