Job description

About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking an experienced Lead Software Developer with experience primarily within the financial services industry. The ideal candidate will have strong full-stack development expertise, lead technical design and delivery initiatives, and mentor development teams while building scalable, secure, and high-performing enterprise applications.


In this role, you will:

  • Lead the design, development, and deployment of enterprise applications and services.
  • Develop and maintain full-stack solutions using modern technologies and best practices.
  • Collaborate with business, architecture, infrastructure, and QA teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
  • Drive code reviews, technical standards, and development best practices.
  • Support application modernization, cloud adoption, and DevOps initiatives.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex production and performance issues.
  • Lead or participate in complex initiatives on selected domains
  • Assure quality, security and compliance for supported systems and applications
  • Serve as a technical resource in finding software solutions
  • Review and evaluate user needs and determine requirements
  • Provide technical support, advice, and consultation with the issues relating to supported applications
  • Create test data and conduct interfaces and unit tests
  • Design, code, test, debug and document programs using Agile development practices
  • Understand and participate to ensure compliance and risk management requirements for supported area are met and work with other stakeholders to implement key risk initiatives
  • Conduct research and resolve problems in relation to processes and recommend solutions and process improvements
  • Assist other individuals in advanced software development
  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals


Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of Specialty Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 4+ years of experience with Python and Java
  • 4+ years of experience with Oracle Database & SQL
  • 4+ years of experience with REST APIs and Microservices
  • 4+ years of experience with Query and Data Analysis Tools
  • 4+ years of experience with Messaging Technologies
  • 4+ years of experience with Kafka
  • 4+ years of experience with Hadoop Ecosystem
  • 4+ years of experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
  • 4+ years of experience with Microsoft Azure cloud services
  • 4+ years of experience in Windows environments and enterprise application support
  • 4+ years of experience with DevOps tools such as Git, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, Artifactory, and deployment automation tools
  • 4+ years of experience with system integration, distributed systems, and scalable architectures


Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience leading distributed development teams.
  • Knowledge of compliance, surveillance, risk, or regulatory platforms.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
