M&J is seeking an Assistant Resident Engineer to Assist the CE&I Project Manager with management and coordination of daily construction inspection activities.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the CE&I Project Manager with management and coordination of daily construction inspection activities. Supervise field inspection personnel and coordinate inspection coverage for contractor operations. Monitor contractor operations and construction progress to ensure compliance with TxDOT plans, specifications, and contract requirements. Review daily work reports and quantity documentation prepared by inspection staff. Assist with preparation and review of progress payment estimates, change orders, and contract modifications in TxDOT SiteManager. Assist with review of contractor submittals, shop drawings, and RFIs. Coordinate construction staging and maintenance of traffic operations in accordance with the contract plans and TxDOT Traffic Control Plan standards. Monitor compliance with environmental permits, erosion and sediment control plans, and safety regulations. Assist the CE&I Project Manager in resolving field issues and coordinating with TxDOT personnel and contractors. Act on behalf of the CE&I Project Manager when delegated.
Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related engineering discipline. Professional Engineer (PE) license in Texas or ability to obtain reciprocity. Minimum 8-12 years of transportation construction experience. Experience working on TxDOT or comparable DOT transportation construction projects.

Preferred

  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification. Professional Engineer (PE) license or progress toward licensure. NICET Level III or IV certification. Certified Construction Manager (CCM) certification. OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Training. ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician - Grade I certification.
