Master Outboard Mechanic

Our Marine Service & Warranty Center provides advanced technical support and service solutions to uphold the performance, safety, and reliability standards of Invincible Boats and Yellowfin Yachts. Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and factory-certified Master Outboard Mechanic to join our Marine Service & Warranty Center. This role is responsible for advanced diagnostics, repair, installation, and maintenance of outboard engines and marine propulsion systems, with a primary focus on Mercury and/or Yamaha engines.

The ideal candidate is a certified Master Mechanic with extensive hands-on experience, strong diagnostic capability, and the ability to perform complex mechanical and electrical repairs independently while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and manufacturer compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform advanced diagnostics, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance on Mercury and/or Yamaha outboard engines.
  • Complete warranty and non-warranty repairs in accordance with manufacturer specifications and service bulletins.
  • Diagnose and repair complex mechanical, electrical, fuel, and propulsion system issues.
  • Rig, de-rig, and install outboard engines, controls, steering systems, and related components.
  • Perform engine commissioning, testing, and sea trials to verify proper operation and performance.
  • Ensure all work meets company quality standards, safety requirements, and manufacturer guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate and complete service documentation, repair orders, and warranty records.
  • Communicate effectively with Service Advisors, Warranty teams, and management regarding technical findings and repair status.
  • Assist in mentoring and supporting junior technicians as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Technical Expertise & Service Quality:

  • Serve as a technical authority on Mercury and/or Yamaha outboard platforms.
  • Interpret and apply technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and service bulletins.
  • Utilize manufacturer diagnostic software and tools to identify and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Ensure repairs are completed right the first time to minimize repeat service and warranty claims.
  • Support continuous improvement in service processes, repair quality, and technical standards.

Required Experience & Certifications:

  • Mercury Master Technician and/or Yamaha Master Technician certification (required).
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in outboard engine diagnostics and repair.
  • Extensive experience with high-horsepower and multi-engine configurations.
  • Strong working knowledge of marine electrical systems, fuel systems, rigging, and propulsion.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision on complex repairs.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Desired Experience:

  • Experience working in a marine service center, warranty facility, or boat manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with service tracking systems, diagnostic platforms, and digital documentation.
  • Experience supporting warranty repairs and manufacturer audits.
  • Lead technician or mentoring experience.
