About Ayoroa Simmons

Ayoroa Simmons is a professional services firm specializing in 3D laser scanning, scan-to-BIM modeling, and BIM coordination for industrial, institutional, and commercial facilities. We help facility owners, engineers, architects, and construction teams make better decisions through accurate, high-fidelity digital as-builts and coordinated models.

We are expanding our presence in Puerto Rico through our subsidiary FormaIQ and seeking a Revit Technician to support field data capture, scan-to-BIM workflows, and production of accurate existing conditions documentation.

Employer of Record / Jurisdiction

This position is being recruited through Ayoroa Simmons, LLC on behalf of FormaIQ, LLC, our Puerto Rico-based subsidiary. If selected, you will be employed directly by FormaIQ, LLC. Payroll, applicable taxes, and statutory benefits will be administered in accordance with the laws of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a detail-oriented Revit Technician with expertise in Autodesk Revit and a degree in architecture. This role supports the development of BIM models, scan-to-BIM workflows, and high-quality construction documents in coordination with our remote, interdisciplinary team.

This position also includes field data capture responsibilities, including the use of terrestrial laser scanners such as the VLX and RTC360 to document existing conditions and support accurate downstream modeling.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce accurate architectural drawings and models using Revit.
  • Execute scan-to-BIM workflows by converting point cloud data into usable design models.
  • Collect field data for existing conditions documentation using terrestrial laser scanners, including systems such as the VLX and RTC360.
  • Assist with on-site reality capture efforts, including scanner setup, field notes, photo documentation, and verification of scan completeness.
  • Organize and handle field data, point clouds, and related documentation for use in modeling and coordination workflows.
  • Assist in the preparation of design and construction documentation sets.
  • Coordinate architectural components with structural, MEP, and survey teams.
  • Collaborate across multiple project phases, from schematic design to construction documents.
  • Support communication between field capture activities and the remote production team to help ensure accurate and timely deliverables.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture (B.Arch or M.Arch).
  • Minimum 2 years of experience using Autodesk Revit in a professional setting.
  • Strong understanding of building systems, construction detailing, and documentation standards.
  • Knowledge of IBC and relevant building codes.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment.
  • Ability to perform field documentation work and travel locally to project sites as needed.

Preferred:

  • Experience with multifamily residential projects.
  • Familiarity with Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), AutoCAD, and Bluebeam.
  • Experience working with point cloud data or 3D laser scan deliverables.
  • Experience using terrestrial laser scanners such as the VLX, RTC360, or similar reality capture systems.

Why Join Our Team?

At Ayoroa Simmons, we invest in people and technology to deliver exceptional results in surveying, design, and BIM. We offer:

  • 401(k) with 4% company match
  • Paid Time Off (PTO)
  • Employee referral program
