RETAIL STORE MANAGER
JOB SUMMARY:
Hog Slat, Incorporated, the world’s leading provider of parts, equipment and turn-key construction to the swine amp; poultry industries is seeking an Assistant Retail Store Manager with previous hog farming industry experience and excellent customer service skills to join the team at our Decatur, IA retail location.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES amp; RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of a retail store specializing in equipment and replacement parts
  • Analyze the local market to determine potential customer leads
  • Direct turnkey building projects to area turnkey sales people
  • Maintain current customer base by providing superb service
  • Assist with daily sales functions like counter sales and phone orders
  • Organize shipments of merchandise not only to customers but also from the distribution center and other Company retail locations
  • Develop and carry-out product launches and promotions for your retail
  • Manage and train store employees to ensure that they are productive members of Hog Slat, Inc.
  • Manage Inventory
  • Take advantage of training opportunities offered by the Company and by our vendors
  • Continually upgrade industry knowledge
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
  • Ideal candidate will have knowledge of the farming industry
  • Knowledge of parts and equipment used in modern hog operations is strongly preferred
  • Previous customer service experience is strongly preferred
  • Qualified candidates will be able to demonstrate a mechanical aptitude
  • Must be able to lift and move 50 lbs.
  • Must be willing and able to obtain fork lift certification and use a fork lift regularly
  • Understanding of the use of E-Mail and Microsoft Office products in daily tasks
  • Previous experience managing in a dynamic customer service environment
  • Must have the ability to delegate and hold others responsible for daily tasks
  • Ability to quickly learn inventory management software
  • Must possess a valid driver license
  • PREFER at least 1 year working in a modern hog farming operation
