Job Title: Family Services Liaison
Salary Schedule: Classified; CHCCS Salary Page
Reports To: Family Services Manager
Salary Grade: 107
Work Location: Lincoln Center
FLSA Status: Nonexempt
Work Schedule: 10 Month
Position Summary
The Family Services Liaison provides assistance in the delivery of family and community partnership services which ensure that families receive support and services prescribed by federal, state, and local Performance Standards and mandates.
Essential Duties
Family Support:
  • Develop meaningful connections with families on caseload to provide catered support for their specific needs
  • Participates in the delivery of a comprehensive social work program and services for PreK-program families
  • Supports parents and the program by assisting with crisis intervention services, conducting home visits, completing comprehensive assessments and connecting families with community resources
  • Communicates with families and provides suggestions, strategies, and opportunities for family involvement
  • Provides transportation, when necessary and with the specific approval of the direct supervisor, for parents/children to appointments, services, and meetings
  • Assist with the transition of students into our Pre-K program and to Kindergarten.
  • Build relationships with classroom sites to build a system for awareness for supports needed for families.

Enrollment, Attendance, and Outreach:
  • Assists with the recruitment and enrollment of families in compliance with Head Start, NC PreK and private pay requirements and mandates
  • Monitors the attendance of children on caseload. Contacts families when children are absent for 85% of the month without excuse
  • Classroom tours for enrolling parents
  • Conduct outreach and recruitment at identified times
  • Support enrollment efforts by collaboration with the Enrollment Specialist

Program Support:
  • Assists the program in the planning and delivery of parent and families engagement activities
  • Visits each classroom/center weekly to facilitate collaboration/communication with teaching staff and parents.
  • Serves as a liaison when staff or families have a concern
  • Assist with the development, review and any necessary revisions of policies and procedures to ensure compliance with Performance Standards and mandates concerning
  • Adheres to the requirement of a mandated reporter as stated in the Child Abuse and Neglect Policy
  • Compiles and completes all reports as requested

Other:
  • Serves as an emergency substitute in Pre-K classrooms during both regular day instruction and extended care
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned by Family Service Manager or the Pre-K/Head Start Director
  • Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures

Education/Experience Requirements
  • Associate's degree in social work, human services, family services, counseling or a related field required
  • Credentials or certification in social work, human services, family services, counseling or a related field
  • Prior successful work experience with children, families, and/or community agencies
  • Bilingual oral and written communication preferred
  • Such alternatives as the Board of Education may find acceptable

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
