Job description

Job title: Outside Sales Representative
Reports to: VP of Business Development
THIS IS A REMOTE POSITION, BUT APPLICANTS MUST RESIDE IN THE STATE OF WISCONSIN - PREFERABLY WITHIN A 1-HOUR RADIUS OF MILWAUKEE.
Summary/objective
: The Outside Sales Representative will be an enthusiastic, career-minded, individual with a strong work ethic and a commitment to teamwork. This position reports to the VP of Business Development and is responsible for assisting with the many facets of the sales and marketing effort including supporting sales goals, also maintaining and developing customer relationships.
Essential functions:
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities
  • Help develop and implement strategic sales plans
  • Pursue new sales opportunities - both in person and/or remotely using current online presentation applications
  • Report weekly sales reports
  • Develop market analysis to identify customer needs.
  • Stay current with client needs, competition, and industry trends
  • Assist in the development and management of client and agency relationships
  • Manage projections to make sure they are completed in a timely manner
  • Responsible for assisting with sales/marketing and advertising campaigns
  • Conduct sales calls - cold calls, existing customers, and follow up calls.

Required competency, education, and experience:
  • Steel sales to various industries: Tool and Die / Mold / Special Machines / Automation / Press Mfg's. / Mining.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills
  • Microsoft Office skills including knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Associate degree with experience in sales, marketing, and/or business development

Preferred education and experience:
  • Bachelors' Degree, technical degree desirable, past industry related or equivalent experience.
  • Ideal candidate must be confident in a selling environment
  • Supplying Heavy equipment OEM's
  • Steel processing knowledge

Work environment: Remote, some travel.
Physical demands:
  • The employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
  • The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands grip or handle; and reach with hands and arms.
  • The employee is required to lift up to 10 pounds.

Position type and expected hours of work: Full time
Travel: 1-2 nights a month
