Job description

Position Summary:

TCS (Tracker Control System) HW Engineer supports hardware engineering activities including testing, validation, troubleshooting, integration, and documentation. This entry-level role works under the supervision of senior engineers to ensure hardware systems meet required technical, performance, and quality standards. The position is designed for early-career engineers developing core technical competencies in PCB design, basic programming skills and troubleshooting environments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Hardware/Software Testing, Validation & Troubleshooting (40%)

  • Execute hardware testing activities in lab environments based on defined test plans
  • Perform functional, performance, and reliability testing of hardware components and systems
  • Support identification, isolation, and documentation of hardware issues (electrical/mechanical/system-level)
  • Develop R&D software to support testing functions (Linux console command)
  • Assist in basic troubleshooting and diagnostics using standard engineering tools and procedures
  • Support failure analysis activities and contribute to root cause investigation under supervision
  • Record and report test results, deviations, and observations in a structured format

2. Hardware Installation, Setup & Integration Support (30%)

  • Assist in setup, installation, and configuration of hardware systems and components
  • Support hardware integration activities with related systems and test environments
  • Verify hardware setup against technical drawings, schematics, and specifications
  • Assist in calibration and preparation of test equipment and measurement tools

  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, manufacturing, and related technical teams

  • Root Cause analysis for field issues

Education and/or Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in a similar engineering role (Mechanical, Controls, Electrical, or Mechatronics)
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related engineering field
  • Fundamental understanding of electrical circuits, mechanical systems, or hardware architecture principles
  • Programming experience with C/C++, Java and/or Python in a Linux environment.
  • Microcontroller experience
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and engineering specifications
  • Basic knowledge of engineering test methods, measurement concepts, and laboratory practices
  • Strong analytical thinking and structured problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented engineering environment
