Job description

Role Description & Responsibilities
This position will report in the Dassault Systemes SIMULIA R&D organization and will work closely with the CFD Product Management, Industry Experts and Software Development teams to build, test, release and support our CFD software products and technologies.
Your role will include designing and executing functional, performance and reliability test plans and ensuring expected quality criteria is successfully achieved prior to release. You will run CFD simulations covering a range of Industry scenarios on supported hardware configurations including High Performance Computing (HPC) environments both On Premises and On Cloud. You will capture and analyze the corresponding current and historical test results to assess quality, identify areas for improvement and communicate key insights
This position is located in our Johnston, RI location and fully onsite with some flexibility for remote days. This role will start as a 3 month internship at 40 hrs per week. After the first 3 months, there is the option for a second internship for up to an additional 9 months at 30 hrs per week. This will also be a fully onsite position
Your responsibilities will include:
  • Perform test define and execution of our 3DEXPERIENCE Fluids CFD simulation applications
  • Assist in the planning, coordination & support of our CFD Beta sessions
  • Perform continuous process and test improvement initiatives to improve our product quality and process efficiency including the development of a continuous automated testing system
  • Validate CFD Industry models and workflows across supported simulation execution configuration environments including HPC On Premises and On Cloud
  • Perform non-functional testing activities including design and execution of installation, licensing, performance & scalability tests
  • Review software requirements, specifications and technical design documents
  • Analyze, debug and communicate findings and results to key stakeholders
  • Identify and document software defects and validate fixes in a timely manner
  • Participate in release readiness assessments

Qualifications
Some knowledge of the following areas is invaluable:
  • BS, MS or PhD engineering degree with a concentration in Fluid Mechanics / Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD)
  • 3.0 or greater GPA
  • Experience and/or coursework using at least one CFD software product
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including ability to clearly articulate details
  • Positive attitude, self-starter, with strong interpersonal skills and team player mentality
  • Enjoy problem solving with strong critical thinking skills and passion to learn
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment

The following areas are not required but nice to have:
  • Exposure to Cloud Computing & HPC technologies and environments
  • Basic knowledge of JavaScript, Python or other programming language
  • Prior Fluids / CFD Industry experience
  • Understanding of software testing concepts

Salary Pay Transparency
Compensation for the role will be commensurate with experience. The total expected compensation range will be between $32 and $40, representing the base salary (or annualized salary based on estimated hourly compensation) and target bonus.
