At The Garrett Companies, we don't just build multifamily communities - we build excellence! As a QAQC Associate with us, you'll be at the heart of our award-winning construction and development teams, helping to bring projects from vision to reality. You'll collaborate with some of the best in the industry, learn every stage of the build process, and take ownership of critical details that keep our projects on track and on brand. This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, loves problem-solving, and isn't afraid to roll up their sleeves because here at The Garrett Companies, every voice matters, and every broom gets pushed!
Role Overview:
The QA/QC Associate supports quality assurance and quality control activities across active Garrett Construction projects, conducting field inspections, documenting findings, and partnering with project teams to drive consistent quality outcomes. This role is a hands-on, field-based contributor that serves as an extension of the QA/QC function on assigned projects.
Everyone at Garrett Construction is a broom-pusher - the QA/QC Associate is expected to support project teams in identifying issues, recommending solutions, and helping drive completion. This role offers a strong development path into QA/QC management as expertise grows.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct regular site inspections on assigned projects to validate compliance with plans, specifications, and quality standards.

  • Document findings, photographs, and observations in the QA/QC tracking system.

  • Partner with project teams (PMs, APMs, Superintendents) to communicate findings and support timely resolution.

  • Track corrective actions through completion and verification.

  • Support the QA/QC Manager and Director of QA/QC in continuous improvement of standards and processes.

  • Conduct pre-installation inspections, in-progress inspections, and final acceptance walks.

  • Validate that subcontractors are executing per the approved drawings and specifications.

  • Identify recurring quality issues and report patterns back to QA/QC leadership.

  • Assist with the development of inspection checklists, standards, and training materials.

  • Maintain a high standard of professionalism in interactions with subcontractors and field teams.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field; equivalent experience considered.

  • 2-5 years of construction experience with exposure to QA/QC, field engineering, or project engineering.

  • Multifamily wood frame construction experience preferred.

  • Strong understanding of construction documents, plans, and specifications.

  • Detail-oriented with strong observation and documentation skills.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to deliver feedback constructively.

  • Proficiency in Procore, BlueBeam Revu, and Microsoft Office.

  • Self-directed with a continuous improvement mindset.

Initial Training and Orientation
  • Garrett Companies Onboarding Program in Indianapolis.

Ongoing Training
  • Membership to professional organizations and continuing education is supported by The Garrett Companies.
  • Company specific.
