Network Engineer With Cisco Networking Experience, Automation And Python
Onsite in any Fiserv Location listed (Alpharetta, GA; Columbus, OH; Omaha, NE; or Milwaukee, WI.)
Job Title: Network Engineer with Cisco Networking experience, Automation and Python experience.
Location: This role requires 5 days onsite at one of the following locations: Alpharetta, GA; Columbus, OH; Omaha, NE; or Milwaukee, WI.
Job Type: Contract-to-Hire after 6 months
Target Rate: $ 65 /hr C2C OR $55/hr W2 Has flexibility for the right resource, but the target is mid-level folks
Required Skills:
- Strong foundational networking knowledge, covering routing, switching, VLANs, VRFs, NAT, and high availability design. (3+ years)
- Handson experience with Cisco networking gear (Arista, F5 BIGIP, and Palo Alto experience is a plus).
- Proficiency in Python for network automation, Hands-on including API interactions, JSON/YAML handling, and Jinja2 templating. (3+ years).
- Advanced Ansible expertise, including playbooks, roles, and vendor-specific collections. (3+ years).
- Strong Linux command-line skills applicable to network and automation workflows.
- Experience working with REST APIs and vendor-specific SDKs.
- Experience using Django to build internal tools or automation dashboards.
- Ability to produce clear technical documentation, including well written code comments.
- Solid understanding of GitLab workflows, CI/CD pipelines
- Familiarity with Docker and container-based development workflows

Preferred Experience:
- Experience using Forward Networks for intent-based analysis and network state validation across complex environments.
- Handson familiarity with pyATS/Genie, including testbed creation, automated network validation, and Cisco configuration/state verification workflows.
- Practical experience with Nornir, leveraging its parallel, Python-native automation framework for scalable, multivendor network automation tasks.
- Understanding and application of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles, including version-controlled configurations, declarative automation, and repeatable, pipeline-driven network deployments.
