Job description

Position:                  Staff Accountant

Location:                   New York, NY

Salary:                       $60K – $70K

NYC based Savings Bank seeks a Staff Accountant to join their Team!

Responsibilities

·        Primary Accountabilities/Responsibilities:

·        Record journal entries and prepare account reconciliations.

·        Assist in month end closing, financial reporting, and variance analysis.

·        Prepare assigned quarterly Call Report schedules.

·        Assist in preparing and analyzing monthly financial statements, reports, and operational reporting of the bank and its subsidiaries.

·        Supports the development, review and analysis of the Company’s consolidated financial budget and forecasts.

·        Assist in analyze expenses for trend and variance analysis and prepare necessary accruals.

·        Maintaining the bank’s fixed asset accounting, including recording of newly acquired fixed assets, tracking existing assets and recording depreciation.

·        Prepare quarterly CAPEX report that track actual vs. budget CAPEX items.

·        Maintains the Company’s lease accounting, including initiation and review of lease documents, recording of newly signed leases and preparation of supporting schedules as needed.

·        Manage Bank’s tenants’ lease contracts, prepare monthly invoices, update rent accruals and track monthly payments.

·        Support internal and external audits with various financial information and analysis, and aids with the resolution of problems as required.

·        Prepare annual real estate tax protest process. Complete annual RPIE Real Property Income Expense.

·        Monthly Sales Tax and quarterly commercial rent tax returns

·        Back up Accounts Payable and Secondary Market functions




Qualifications

·        Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field

·        Knowledge of financial accounting principles and concepts in order to perform tasks listed in Major Duties and Responsibilities above.

·        Proficient with MS Excel, Word and Outlook.
