Job description

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager to join our Integrated Scaffolding Concepts (ISC) team. In this role, you will support the successful planning, coordination, and execution of construction projects from pre-construction through project closeout. Working closely with Project Managers, field leadership, clients, and subcontractors, you will help ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with company quality standards.

The Assistant Project Manager will assist with estimating, budgeting, scheduling, cost tracking, procurement, and project documentation while helping maintain strong client relationships through exceptional customer service and communication. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop project management skills in a fast-paced construction environment while contributing to the overall success and profitability of the ISC division.

The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and solution-oriented, with strong communication, problem-solving, and time management skills. A commitment to safety, teamwork, and delivering high-quality results is essential.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

The duties and responsibilities are intended to describe the general nature and scope of work being performed by this position. This is not a complete listing, and other duties will be assigned based on the position's role within the business unit.

  • Assist the Project Manager in coordinating projects from pre-construction through project closeout.
  • Support estimating, budgeting, scheduling, and project planning activities.
  • Coordinate labor, equipment, materials, and subcontractors to ensure projects remain on schedule.
  • Monitor project progress, budgets, and schedules, identifying potential issues and assisting with resolutions.
  • Prepare and maintain project documentation, including contracts, change orders, RFIs, submittals, purchase orders, and closeout documents.
  • Communicate with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure project requirements and timelines are met.
  • Conduct jobsite visits to monitor project progress, quality, and safety compliance.
  • Assist with procurement and material tracking to support field operations.
  • Maintain accurate project records and provide regular status updates to the Project Manager.
  • Support project meetings and document meeting minutes and action items.
  • Ensure projects are completed in accordance with company policies, customer expectations, and applicable safety regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED (Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred).
  • 1-3 years of progressive construction experience or a combination of education and equivalent experience.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and mechanical drawings.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel) and project management software.
  • Experience with Bluebeam and/or On-Screen Takeoff.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and a proactive, team-oriented mindset.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish).
  • Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, or similar construction management software.
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
  • PMP certification or progress toward obtaining a PMP certification is a plus.
Physical Requirements include but are not limited to the following:
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to walk, stand, sit, bend, kneel, squat, climb, and occasionally work on active construction sites.
  • Ability to travel to jobsites, meetings, and other business locations as needed.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) while on jobsites.
  • Ability to work around construction equipment, tools, and materials.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in person, by phone, and through virtual meetings.
  • Ability to use hands and fingers to operate a computer, keyboard, and other office equipment.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 15 pounds.
