Job description

Position Summary: This position is responsible for managing food process piping projects from start to finish. This includes scope, design and bidding of potential projects as well as assistance and support of field installation crews. Must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously at food plants throughout the USA as well as manage projects in house.
In addition, this position requires excellent written and verbal communication and customer service skills for corresponding with co-workers as well as external customers and vendors.

Primary Functions
• Provide quotes or proposals to customers. (Installation, Equipment, or Systems)
• Respond to customer requests for information
• Ensure proper documentation for billing and costing of each job is provided to the Process Engineering support staff
• Ensure compliance with all safety rules, regulations and procedures trained and/or implemented by CSI staff
• Maintain all customer and prospect accounts and contacts in CSI's CRM software per training and published procedures.
• Follow-up with customer after field project is completed for feedback on satisfaction
• Follow-up on quotes and proposals
• Update customers regarding current projects
• Provide design assistance pertaining to possible installation services
• Visit future or possible customer sites to provide assistance in design or scope of project
• Prepare project projection reports on a monthly basis to determine job performance and communicate performance to management.
• Visit current installation sites to provide any assistance and support necessary to field staff
• Approve invoices that are directly related to projects
• Design process piping systems, with the aid of the Process Engineering Group, with concise calculations and documentation
• Develop AutoCAD drawings as required for projects, typically P & ID and layout drawings
• Provide technical support to controls system engineers during process start-up
• Provide overall project management of all contractors as required and maintain MS Project Gantt charts
• Define scope and bill of materials for projects
• Provide a concise design and scope package to the Installation Services Manager and Job Superintendent at the beginning of execution phase of projects. Provide scope and delegation of responsibilities.
• Compare actual data with forecast data after jobs are completed to improve quoting accuracy

• Track and control project cost and schedule
Secondary Functions
• Assist customers contacting CSI for technical assistance
• Size pumps for various applications
• Assist co-workers with technical issues
• Conduct and prepare detailed evaluations on their peer's performance in appraisals by a means of unbiased scoring while including descriptive comments or notations on their associated actions

Salary: Total compensation $110-$140 annually
Education/Training:
  • High school diploma or equivalent, required
  • BS Industrial Management or related degree, preferred
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification, preferred

Experience:
  • 3 years managing or designing process systems projects
  • Project management
  • Piping design, pipe fitting, or welding
  • Industrial food system processing environments System design, equipment, and instrumentation selection
  • CAD design computer proficiency

Skills

Standard workday is 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. More than 40 hours per week will normally be required in order to achieve the productivity necessary for this position. Overnight travel, Saturday, Sunday and holiday hours will be required. Travel via plane or vehicle may also be required.
This position requires the ability to interact with employees verbally and in writing, remain in a stationary position for 80% of the workday, have close visual acuity, and constantly operate a computer and other office productivity equipment, such as a phone, copy/fax/scan machine, computer keyboard and mouse with or without reasonable accommodation. This position also requires the ability to occasionally lift, stoop, bend, and lift office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds.
