Overview / Responsibilities

Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions is seeking a Project Manager to supervise highway and rural road projects based in Saskatoon SK.

Wood provides environmental and transportation engineering design expertise to provincial, regional, and municipal road authorities employing over 5,500 individuals in our Environment & Infrastructure Solutions business across North America.ย  Operating from 3 offices across Saskatchewan, our company offers a comprehensive suite of services, including proven success in leading multi-disciplinary teams on projects of varying size, complexity, and procurement models, from preliminary assessment and design through to detail design, contract preparation, tendering, construction administration, inspection and post-construction monitoring.

This is an exciting opportunity to take on a lead role in a team environment to improve the pursuit and delivery of provincial highway and rural projects.

Key Responsibilities:ย 

  • Manage preliminary and detail engineering design
  • Prepare and manage project scope and workplans including schedule and financial aspects.
  • Oversee and prepare standard engineering computations, material quantity takeoffs, and estimates for preparation of tender documents
  • Provide on-site supervision, contract administration, enforcement of contract specifications, and construction monitoring
  • Maintain superior communication between Contractor and Team Lead
Skills / Qualifications
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience with preliminary and detail design road and highway projects
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience with all aspects of roadway design including alignments, geometrics, staging, utilities, roadside safety, quantity calculations, contract documents, and constructability.
  • Superior knowledge of design standards and guidelines.
  • Thorough knowledge of contract administration, quantity and quality control, engineering inspection services during construction and post construction services.
