ELM Construction LLC is a design-build remodeling company serving homeowners in Vestavia Hills, Homewood, Mountain Brook, Hoover, and the greater Birmingham area. We specialize in residential renovations, kitchens, bathrooms, whole-home transformations, additions, and exterior upgrades. Our goal is to provide phenomenal design and remodel experiences that leave clients thrilled with their homes.


We are seeking a talented Interior Designer to support our design team in creating thoughtful, stylish, and functional residential interiors. This role focuses on design execution, client support, and project coordination, while senior-level responsibilities such as department leadership are optional.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Meet with clients at project locations to understand goals, style, budget, and project needs
  • Gather measurements, photos, and information to create as-built drawings
  • Develop design concepts based on client tastes, project scope, and budget
  • Design kitchens, bathrooms, and other residential spaces using Chief Architect or similar software
  • Present design concepts and revisions to clients
  • Assist clients with selections, finishes, materials, and design decisions
  • Support field installation with sketches, details, and documentation
  • Respond to client communications in a timely and professional manner
  • Coordinate with trade partners and vendors for product quotes and orders
  • Visit job sites to verify design accuracy and materials
  • Participate in team meetings and client events as needed


Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of residential interior design experience preferred
  • Experience with residential construction, remodeling, or design-build strongly preferred
  • Strong understanding of interior design principles
  • Experience designing kitchens, bathrooms, and living spaces
  • Proficiency with Chief Architect, 2020, AutoCAD, SketchUp, or similar design software
  • Excellent client service and communication skills
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and professional
  • Ability to balance design creativity with budgets, timelines, and construction realities
  • Positive attitude and collaborative mindset
  • Degree in Interior Design or related field preferred, but strong professional experience may substitute


Pay and Benefits:
