An Assistant Project Manager in a data center project supports the Project Manager in planning, coordinating, and overseeing all aspects of the construction or upgrade process. Their responsibilities often include assisting with scheduling, budgeting, procurement, documentation, and communication between contractors, vendors, and stakeholders. They help ensure that the project stays on track, meets deadlines, and complies with safety and quality standards. This role typically requires strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, as well as some technical knowledge of data center infrastructure.

Take Charge of Your Career at Interstates
At Interstates, we don't just show up to work, we show up for each other. From our headquarters in Iowa to job sites across the country, we're doing award-winning electrical, controls, automation, and OT work that powers industrial facilities for clients here in the U.S. and around the world. Whether you're bending conduit, wiring panels, writing code, supporting projects, or helping things run behind the scenes, you'll be part of a crew that works hard, shares laughs, and takes pride in doing quality work. We believe in building strong teams, doing the right thing, and making a difference in the communities where we live. If you want to grow and do meaningful work, you'll feel at home here.
We are looking for future leaders to join our Interstates Project Management team supporting Data Center projects. At Interstates, we specialize in Electrical Construction, Engineering, Instrumentation, and Automation, and we build the critical infrastructure that helps data centers operate reliably, efficiently, and safely.
You do not need prior experience in these fields to apply. We believe in coaching, training, and development. If you bring a strong work ethic, a desire to learn, and a drive to help teams succeed, we can teach you the rest. Apply today and see how Interstates can help launch your career.
As an Assistant Project Manager on a Data Center project, you'll work closely with project leadership, field crews, clients, and trade partners to help keep work on schedule, support project controls, and contribute to successful project delivery in a fast-paced, highly coordinated environment.
Here, integrity, trust, and safety are always top of mind. Our work is exciting, every day is different, and data center projects often demand strong communication, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt quickly as priorities evolve. We'll provide the training and support you need to build a strong career path at a dynamic, growing company that offers competitive pay and outstanding benefits.
At Interstates, our success starts with yours.
