Summary

The Project Estimator is responsible to review the client technology needs and come up with a design estimate that best fits the requirements. The position requires good understanding of Physical Security discipline and labor cost analysis. This position will be collaborating closely with Sales and Engineering team to ensure time, material and costs are all identified and accounted for.


Major Roles and Responsibilities

  • Research, design and build estimates to fit the requirements (based on walkthroughs, specs, or bids)
  • Conduct research and analysis to obtain data on labor costs, materials, production times etc.
  • Read blueprints and analyze all other applicable documents to prepare estimates
  • Markup floorplans for equipment placing and pathways
  • Research various technology solutions to evaluate best use case scenarios
  • Manage pricing from various vendors and manufacturers
  • Ensure timely completion of estimates
  • Assist sales team in final project preparation transactions
  • Build relationships with key vendors
  • Provide product demos and consultations as needed
  • Ensure company policies and standard practices are followed
  • Interact with all clients and be the face of Prime Secured
  • Work in partnership with the Sales, Project Management and Engineering teams on larger scale projects
  • Prepare and submit reports as required
  • Ensure departmental daily records and other management tools are maintained and accurate
  • Perform other duties and tasks as assigned
Requirements:

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in the security industry
  • Ability to read blueprints is required
  • Critical thinking, analytical, and organizational skills
  • Must be able to work on fast paced projects and work environment
  • Must be detail oriented
  • Must be self-motivated and be able to work and be successful with limited supervision
  • Experience with low voltage wiring and knowledge of the aspects of security equipment (cameras, mag-locks, panels, etc.) installation is required
  • Must have a good understanding of strike wire, data cabling, connectors, door contacts, hardware, and installation of cameras and software
  • Must understand the fundamentals of electricity including relay logic circuits
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to travel to regional job sites
  • Must have very strong customer service skills
  • Good judgment is required

  • Probationary period of 90 days
  • Individuals with a felony or misdemeanor convictions MAY not be hired
  • Individuals must not have any alcohol or drug-related convictions or suspensions within the past three years.
  • Individual must be able to read and understand instructions in English as well as possess good oral and written communication skills
  • Individual must be able to pass a drug and physical screening as well as background requirements
  • Individual must be available to work variable hours and willing to travel
