Our client, a well-established Heavy Civil / Infrastructure Construction firm based in Northern NJ, is actively seeking a Project Engineer / Assistant Project Manager to join their growing team immediately.

The firm specializes in heavy civil construction projects including roadway work, utilities, site development, excavation, concrete, infrastructure improvements, and public works projects throughout NJ/NY.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a Construction Management or Civil Engineering background who is looking to grow within a fast-paced project environment and work alongside experienced industry professionals.

 

Position: Project Engineer / Assistant Project Manager

Salary: $65K - $85K with medical.

Location: Fairview NJ ( Northern NJ)

Industry: Heavy Civil Construction / Infrastructure

Responsibilities:

• Assist Project Managers with day-to-day project coordination

• Review drawings, specifications, RFIs, and submittals

• Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and field teams

• Track schedules, budgets, and project progress

• Support documentation, reporting, and project closeout processes

• Attend project meetings and assist with site coordination

• Help ensure projects remain on schedule and within budget

• Assist with utility, roadway, excavation, concrete, and sitework projects

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred

• Civil Engineering background strongly preferred

• Internship or professional experience within heavy civil, infrastructure, utility, roadway, or site development projects preferred

• Strong organizational and communication skills

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; Procore, AutoCAD, or Bluebeam experience is a plus

• Must possess a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

• Must be able to work in-office as well as travel to active project sites

• Must be comfortable working outdoors and visiting job sites in all weather conditions
