This position is located onsite at the Stennis Space Center, Mississippi.
Job Overview
Nova Space Solutions (NSS) is seeking a Construction Manager (CM) to support the Engineering Services Department at NASA John C. Stennis Space Center (SSC) in Mississippi. The Construction Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, managing, and overseeing construction activities related to facility, infrastructure, and systems projects to ensure successful project execution, safety compliance, schedule adherence, and quality performance.
This role supports construction activities throughout the project lifecycle including project planning, design coordination, construction execution, startup support, turnover, and closeout activities.
Responsibilities
Essential Job Duties:
  • Support Task Order (TO) formulation and Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) project proposal development.
  • Provide construction input during project planning, estimating, scheduling, budgeting, and resource assessment activities.
  • Serve as construction subject matter expert (SME) during project design and pre-construction phases.
  • Assist project teams with Scope of Work (SOW) development and constructability reviews.
  • Coordinate with Engineering, Project Management Office (PMO), procurement, and construction teams throughout project execution.
  • Participate in project kickoff meetings, design review meetings, pre-construction meetings, and project closeout activities.
  • Manage and oversee day-to-day construction activities and construction contract administration.
  • Coordinate construction schedules, utility outages, subcontractor activities, and field execution requirements.
  • Inspect and review construction activities to ensure compliance with safety requirements, quality standards, building codes, and project specifications.
  • Maintain construction documentation including daily logs, correspondence files, and "as-built" drawings.
  • Coordinate with customers, contractors, resident agencies, and project stakeholders to resolve construction-related issues.
  • Investigate construction delays, incidents, and field issues and support corrective action efforts.
  • Support change management processes and construction claim resolution activities.
  • Evaluate construction progress and percent complete reporting.
  • Ensure punch list, turnover, startup support, and closeout activities are completed successfully.
  • Participate in lessons learned and project turnover meetings.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform quality work within established deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Maintain compliance with company, customer, safety, environmental, and contractual requirements.
  • Communicate and coordinate effectively with project teams, contractors, customers, vendors, and stakeholders.
  • Support safe construction execution and enforce adherence to project safety requirements and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate construction records, reports, and documentation.
  • Support a professional, organized, and team-oriented work environment.

Job Requirements
Mandatory:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Construction Manager within engineering, environmental, industrial, or construction environments.
  • Strong working knowledge of construction management, project delivery methods, contract administration, and field construction operations.
  • Experience supporting construction planning, scheduling, budgeting, and construction execution activities.
    Strong organizational, planning, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and Office 365.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities and project activities.
  • Must maintain a valid state-issued enhanced driver's license.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen in order to obtain the required NASA badge.
  • Ability to successfully complete all required employment verification and badging documentation processes.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to support projects at both Stennis Space Center (SSC) and Michoud Assembly Facility (MAF) as required.

Preferred:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Certified Construction Manager (CCM) certification.
  • Experience supporting government, NASA, industrial, environmental, or infrastructure projects.
  • Experience with construction startup, turnover, and closeout activities.
  • Certifications or familiarity with asbestos/lead abatement, confined space entry, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), fall protection, scaffold safety, CPR, or related construction safety programs.
  • Experience supporting multi-discipline construction projects in active operational environments.

Working Conditions:
  • Work is performed in office, industrial, construction, and operational facility environments.
  • Position requires frequent field coordination, site walkthroughs, and interaction with active construction activities.
  • Occasional travel between SSC and MAF may be required.
  • Occasional exposure to industrial equipment, construction activities, and varying environmental conditions.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to walk throughout active construction and industrial environments.
  • Ability to climb stairs, ladders, and scaffolding as required.
  • Ability to wear required PPE including hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, and steel toe shoes.
  • Ability to tolerate varying environmental and weather conditions while supporting field activities.
