Construction Project Engineer - Construction - Base Salary to 70k/year - Arlington Heights, IL

  • Our client, an established general contractor with more than 50 years in the construction industry, is seeking a Construction Project Engineer to support commercial construction projects in Arlington Heights, IL. This role will work closely with Project Management, Estimating, and Operations throughout the project lifecycle, with a focus on retail and banking construction projects. The Construction Project Engineer will support project setup, subcontractor coordination, estimating and takeoffs, RFIs, submittals, purchase orders, contracts, and project closeout.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist Project Managers with day-to-day construction project administration and coordination
  • Set up new projects and coordinate subcontractor onboarding, insurance requirements, subcontractor agreements, and project documentation
  • Perform construction estimating and quantity takeoffs as needed
  • Prepare and track RFIs, submittals, purchase orders, prime contracts, and related construction documentation
  • Assist with project closeout documentation and turnover requirements
  • Coordinate with Estimating, Project Management, and Operations teams throughout the project lifecycle
  • Enter, maintain, and transfer project data and documentation within construction management systems
  • Support retail, banking, and other commercial construction projects

Qualifications:

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Personal Employment Registration Card (PERC)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Teams
  • Ability to travel occasionally throughout Chicagoland and neighboring Great Lakes states
