Reporting to the Project Director, the Assistant Project Coordinator (Co-op Student) will have the opportunity to take an active role in a heavy civil infrastructure project in the GTA. This is an office and site-based position and will include day-to-day management of project construction, resource allocation,ย schedulingย and cost control forย aย 8 month or longer term.ย 

We are currently looking for co-op students to join our powerhouse of infrastructure innovation and execution in our major projects division.ย ย 

This is an 8 month co-op opportunity.ย 

Whatย You'llย Do Here:ย 

  • Provide Management with data and project analysis.ย 

  • Track productivity,ย costsย and progress on project.ย 

  • Perform quantity take-off from construction drawings asย required.ย 

  • Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to review the quality of completed work.ย 

  • Liaise with and inform any Aecon delegate on project schedule.ย 

  • Monitor progress andย assistย in the provision of job cost reports to management.ย 

  • Provide data and input for month-end reconciliation.ย 

  • Maintain files and correspondence.ย 

  • Provide technical support to field staff.ย 

  • Assistย in the coordination,ย preparationย and submission of as-built drawings and design drawings.ย 

  • Assistย in the preparation, review,ย maintenanceย and approval of Engineering drawings and related documents.ย 

  • Gather field information andย assistย in the preparation of projectย billย of materials.ย 

  • Assistย in the preparation of detailed construction and design estimates.ย 

  • Liaise with clients,ย contractorsย and internal departments.ย 

  • Other administrative duties asย required.ย 

  • Must be self-motivated and work well with minimum supervision.ย

What You Bring to the Team:ย 

  • Currently enrolled in a university or technical college diploma in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.ย 

  • Experience in the construction industry is a strong asset.ย 

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication (both oral and written) skills.ย 

  • Strong Interpersonal skills in communicating with a large team.ย 

  • Organizational and time management skills.ย 

  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task/ Serviceย orientated.ย 

  • Thrive on a fastย paced-environment.ย 

  • Adaptable toย flexibleย work schedule whenย requiredย to meet deadlines.ย 

  • Driver's License preferred with access to vehicle.ย ย

The expected pay range for this role is $23 - $28 per hour

Individual pay isย determinedย based on several factors, including work location, education, experience, uniqueย skillsย and job conditions. Other considerations may include certifications, specialized training, and the complexity or scope of the role.ย
