POSITION SUMMARY


The Project Controller plays a critical role in supporting project managers and senior leadership by providing financial oversight, cost control, and performance analysis for projects across the organization. This position ensures that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget by maintaining accurate financial records, forecasting project costs, and identifying financial risks and opportunities.


RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

· Monitor and control project budgets, forecasts, and actuals throughout the project lifecycle.

· Prepare and analyze monthly project financial reports, including variance analysis and cost-to-complete projections.

· Develop and maintain ROI models for plant CAPEX projects to support investment decisions and post-project evaluations.

· Track and report on Construction in Progress (CIP), ensuring timely capitalization and alignment with accounting standards.

· Collaborate with project managers to ensure financial alignment with project goals and timelines.

· Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) and project milestones.

· Support the development of project proposals, including cost estimation and financial modeling.

· Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting standards, and company policies.

· Assist in the preparation of internal and external audits related to project financials.

· Identify and escalate financial risks and recommend mitigation strategies.

· Maintain project documentation and support continuous improvement initiatives.

· Business partner to building plant manager where assigned

REQUIREMENTS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES)

· Proficiency in financial systems (e.g., Made to Manage, SAP) and Microsoft Excel.

· Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

· Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.

· Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to manage multiple priorities.

· Collaborative mindset with the ability to work cross-functionally in a matrixed environment.

· Knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g., PMI, Agile) is a plus.



EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE (required levels)

· Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.

· Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA, PMP) is a plus.

· Prior experience in a publicly traded company or with SOX compliance (required).

· Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in project controlling, financial analysis, or project accounting in a corporate or consulting environment.
