Job Summary:
The University of Colorado Division of Cardiology seeks a cardiologist with advanced fellowship training in Advanced Heart Failure and Cardiac Transplantation. The candidate should be board certified/eligible in Cardiovascular Medicine by the ABIM. The successful candidate should also have a meaningful interest in academic medicine. The major site of practice is the University of Colorado Hospital.
The preferred candidate should have completed fellowships and be board certified/eligible in both Cardiovascular Medicine and Advanced Heart Failure and Transplantation. An ideal candidate should also have a meaningful research background with the ability and intention of developing a collaborative research program focused on issues relating to heart transplantation and/or advanced heart failure.
Work Location:
Onsite - this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Aurora, CO.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
This is an open rank position and could be categorized as Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor based on experience and qualifications as indicated below:
Assistant Professor:
MD, Board certified/eligible in Cardiovascular Medicine by the ABIM. Advanced Fellowship in Heart Failure and Transplantation. 1-3 Years of experience.
Associate Professor:
MD, Board certified/eligible in Cardiovascular Medicine by the ABIM. Advanced Fellowship in Heart Failure and Transplantation. 3-6 years of experience.
Professor:
MD, Board certified/eligible in Cardiovascular Medicine by the ABIM. Advanced Fellowship in Heart Failure and Transplantation. 7+ years of experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
The successful candidate should have a meaningful clinical research background with the ability and intention of developing a collaborative research program focused on issues relating to heart transplantation and/or heart failure. A clinical or research interest in device based therapies for advanced heart failure is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to independently manage patients with advanced heart failure, including those pending or following heart transplantation and those receiving mechanical circulatory support - these clinical skills would be applied in ambulatory clinic settings and on inpatient floor, CCU, and ED units - echocardiography and/or diagnostic cardiac catheterizations skills a plus. Ability to serve in an academic role as a faculty member in our training programs, including participation in didactic activities related to cardiology trainees as well as in the education of house officers and medical students on our various clinical services. Ability to contribute to the research conduct within the Division of Cardiology.

Assistant Professor: $375,000 to $450,000
Associate Professor: $450,000 to $500,000

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt.
