Position Highlights: The Department of Economics at the University of Arizona, Eller College of Management, invites applications from qualified candidates in relevant fields for a Visiting Assistant Professor position to begin in August 17, 2026. Considerations will be given to candidates whose research focuses on applied microeconomics, broadly defined. The faculty member will teach courses at graduate or undergraduate levels and contribute to mentoring students in addition to building or maintaining an excellent research record. Our faculty work across a range of applied microeconomics, economic theory, and econometrics areas, and their research is published consistently in leading economics journals and regularly wins research grants and national and international prizes. The Department\'s instruction is also outstanding, with faculty members consistently winning university and national awards for their teaching. A Visiting Assistant Professor would complement and expand our department strengths while adding new research and teaching approaches, topics, or interests.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Perform significant and continuing scholarly research in applied microeconomics.
  • Publish in leading academic journals.
  • Teach in undergraduate or graduate programs.
  • Train and mentor doctoral students.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in Economics or a related field from an accredited institution by the start date.
  • Evidence of research productivity.
  • Experience teaching at the university level.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience teaching undergraduate Business Strategy or related courses, including work with business school students and demonstrated knowledge of Industrial Organization concepts relevant to Business Strategy.
  • Demonstrated research interests aligned with department strengths in one or more of the following areas: Industrial Organization, Labor Economics, Environmental and Energy Economics, or Economic History.
