Title Assistant Professor of English Appointment Status Tenure Track Department IU South Bend English Location South Bend Position Summary
The English Department at Indiana University South Bend invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Composition and First Year Writing in the department's expository writing program, to begin August 1, 2027. Applicants should have enthusiasm for teaching first-year students and First-Year Writing in a First Year Writing General Education program integrated within a collegial and lively English Department. The full-time load (100% FTE) is 12 credit hours (typically four courses) each fall and spring semester, with one course reassigned time for scholarly and creative activities following university & campus policies. Successful applicants will be expected to demonstrate a commitment to quality instruction, maintain an active research agenda, and engage in service activities.
