Product Line Engineer (PLE) Responsibilities

The PLE is responsible for managing the product development of the product line(s) allocated to them in sync with the defined and shared Product Line vision. The Product Line Engineer maintains daily contact with team members as they work on various projects, supervising their application of engineering principles and ensuring compliance with engineering guidelines. As a core part of their role, the PLE acts as a leader to continuously propose ideas to enhance the Product Line Plan and to improve the simple, reliable, and easy to maintain (SREM) characteristics of the product line.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, maintain, and nurture the Product Line Plan (PLP) for the product lines they are responsible for, under the supervision of Engineering Manager.
  • Ensure the implementation of the PLP.
  • Assist production with necessary training, support, and team development.
  • Manage all technical aspects of their product line; control the overall product architecture; control the design review of the product lines.
  • Review associated incoming orders and manage associated tasks.
  • May act as Product Engineer during project development; will oversee project development.
  • Challenge and validate root causes of issues and propose solutions.
  • Establish standards, procedures, and other documents in accordance with ISO .
  • Will support other products/projects as needed to support company initiatives.
Qualifications
  • 2 years of engineering design experience, including design methods, engineering materials, and associated manufacturing systems.
  • Computer skills; SolidWorks or other 3D-CAD proficiency; MRP system experience; proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Bachelorโ€™s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
