ย Bradford & Bigelow expects the Roll Tender working on the Manroland press to consistently demonstrate the highest level of personal performance, approach their responsibilities with enthusiasm, strive to meet or exceed all performance goals, and actively support the company's mission to be the leading provider of printing services in the industry.

ย Essential Functions of the Position:

1. Adheres to policies and procedures of Bradford & Bigelow.

2. Ability to operate Zero-Speed and Flying Paster Splicers.

3. Ability to operate clamp trucks, Fork / Clamp trucks and Electric Jacks.

4. Ability to read and understand job tickets.

5. Prepare plates(bend) to be mounted.

6. Assist press operator with mounting both plates and blankets.

7. Assist press operator during job start-ups.

8. Computer literate to properly record all stock usage.

9. Maintain proper quantities of pressroom materials and chemicals.

10. Monitor pH and conductivity of fountain solution.

11. Perform preventive maintenance on splicers.

12. Reads Safety Data Sheets (SDS) making sure proper procedures are followed in the care and disposal of hazardous waste products and practices safety procedures as required by OSHA and Company policy.

13. Assist in cleaning up and keeping work area neat and orderly.

14. Performs other duties as requested.


Additional Responsibilities:

  • Follow all safety policies and procedures, including but not limited to proper use of PPEs, safe ergonomic practices, and proper and safe handling of chemicals.
  • Maintain working knowledge, awareness, and compliance with ISO Procedures.
  • May require additional availability to work evenings and/or weekends.
  • Other duties as assigned, including working where directed, be it on varying presses or in other departments.

Requirements

ย ย PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Excellent vision, including the ability to perceive color
  • Ability to operate jacks safely
  • Ability to remain physically and mentally alert during second shift hours (6pm - 6am)
  • Dexterity
  • Capable of repeated standing, walking, sitting, bending, and lifting of skids and skid boards up to 30lbs for 8-12 hours at a time
  • Ability to work at a rapid pace
  • Ability to tolerate being exposed to loud noises and moving machinery (PPE provided)
  • Mechanical skills preferredย 

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Prior experience in a printing environment preferred but not required. Willing to train.ย
