Assistant Pool Manager information

What is an assistant pool manager?

Assistant pool managers are professionals who help oversee the daily operations of swimming pools, working under the direction of a pool manager. Their duties typically include supervising lifeguards, ensuring pool safety and cleanliness, assisting with scheduling, handling customer inquiries, and enforcing pool rules and regulations. They play a key role in maintaining a safe environment for swimmers and supporting the overall management of the aquatic facility.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an assistant pool manager, and why are they important?

To thrive as an Assistant Pool Manager, you need a solid understanding of pool operations, water safety, and basic maintenance, usually supported by a lifeguard certification and knowledge of first aid and CPR. Familiarity with pool chemical testing kits, scheduling software, and incident reporting systems is typically required. Strong leadership, communication, and conflict resolution skills help you manage staff and respond to patrons effectively. These qualifications are essential to ensure the safe, efficient, and enjoyable operation of the pool facility.

What are some typical challenges an assistant pool manager faces during peak season, and how can they effectively address them?

During peak swimming season, Assistant Pool Managers often face challenges such as coordinating staff schedules, managing high patron volume, and ensuring pool safety compliance. Effective communication and proactive planning are key to maintaining smooth operations and a positive environment for both staff and guests. Regular training sessions, clear delegation of responsibilities, and quick problem-solving help address issues like overcrowding or equipment malfunctions, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all.

Internal Float Pool Nurse

Nye Health Services is seeking experienced, highly adaptable Registered Nurses (RNs) and Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) to join our exclusive Internal Float Pool team. This elite group of nurses provides clinical support across our skilled nursing campuses in Fremont, Louisville, and Lincoln, helping ensure exceptional resident care while supporting staffing needs throughout the organization.

This role is designed for experienced long-term care nurses who value flexibility, variety, and premium compensation while maintaining access to benefits and the support of a respected healthcare organization.

Unlike agency staffing, our Internal Float Pool offers competitive pay, consistent scheduling, organizational support, and eligibility for benefits while allowing nurses to work across multiple campuses and care teams.

Why Join the Internal Float Pool?

  • Base pay determined by nursing experience
  • Additional 15% Float Pool Premium on top of base rate
  • Paid holidays and PTO accrual
  • Opportunity to work across multiple skilled nursing communities
  • Monthly scheduling based on organizational needs
  • Benefits eligibility for team members working 30+ hours per week
  • Affordable medical benefits โ€“ many team members pay $0!
  • Exposure to diverse resident populations and clinical teams
  • The flexibility many agency nurses seek with the stability of permanent employment

Minimum Qualifications

  • Current Nebraska RN or LPN license in good standing
  • Minimum of three (3) years of nursing experience in Long-Term Care/Skilled Nursing
  • Demonstrated clinical competence and strong assessment skills
  • Ability to adapt quickly to different teams, workflows, and resident populations
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Reliable transportation and willingness to travel between Fremont, Louisville, and Lincoln campuses

Schedule Requirements

  • Must be available to work across all designated Nye Health Services skilled nursing campuses
  • Scheduled month-to-month based on organizational staffing needs
  • Ability to pick up additional shifts based on availability and organizational need
  • Team members working 30 or more hours per week are eligible for benefits in accordance with company policy

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care in accordance with physician orders, resident care plans, and regulatory requirements
  • Perform assessments, medication administration, treatments, and documentation
  • Respond effectively to changes in resident condition
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure quality resident outcomes
  • Support resident, family, and team member communication
  • Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and organizational regulations
  • Adapt quickly to varying campus procedures and resident care needs
  • Serve as a positive representative of Nye Health Services across all assigned locations
  • Assist leadership teams in maintaining safe staffing levels and quality clinical outcomes

What Makes This Role Different?

The Internal Float Pool is intentionally designed to be a small, highly selective team of experienced nursing professionals. Members are trusted clinical resources who bring flexibility, expertise, and leadership to multiple campuses.

This position is not intended for new graduate nurses. Successful candidates will have a proven track record in long-term care and the ability to confidently integrate into multiple care teams while maintaining exceptional resident care standards.
