About Us

At Crossroads Prison Ministries, our mission is to connect people in prisons with mentors from churches to develop Christ-centered relationships as they study God's Word together. As our Marketing and Communications Assistant, you'll play an important part in helping tell the stories of people impacted by incarceration while supporting content creation, social media, ministry communications, and administrative projects with your faith and a passion for ministry. Due to growth, we're adding a new Marketing and Communications Assistant to our ministry team. This role is scheduled for 20-29 hours per week either hybrid, remote or in office and is not eligible for benefits. There is occasional in office work. At Crossroads Prison Ministries, our engagement and retention are strong due to a faith-focused work environment.

What You'll Do:

Reporting to the Director of Marketing and Communications, the Marketing and Communications Assistant will execute the daily functions, including, but not limited to:

  • Assist with writing, editing, and organizing content for blogs, newsletters, social media, and ministry communications.
  • Review student letters, artwork, poetry, and stories to help identify compelling content and storytelling opportunities.
  • Support social media scheduling, email communications, and audience engagement efforts.
  • Assist with design and production of ministry materials using established templates and brand standards.
  • Organize digital and physical content, maintain records, and support communication-related administrative projects.
  • Contribute ideas and support special projects that help advance the ministry's mission.

You're dependable, eager to learn, and enjoy working collaboratively while managing projects independently.

We're Looking for Someone Who:

  • Has a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a desire to serve through ministry.
  • Communicates clearly and professionally in writing and conversation.
  • Is highly organized and attentive to detail.
  • Can manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
  • Is creative, teachable, dependable, and self-motivated.
  • Enjoys learning new skills and contributing ideas.
  • Has an interest in communications, marketing, storytelling, nonprofit work, or digital content creation.
  • Has coursework, internship, volunteer, or professional experience in communications, marketing, writing, nonprofit work, or a related field
  • Has strong writing, proofreading, and editing skills.
  • Is proficient with Microsoft Office.
  • Is Familiar with social media platforms and basic content creation.
  • Has experience with Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud, databases, email platforms, or project management tools is helpful but not required.
  • Is currently in college, a recent graduate, or has equivalent experience.
