Job description

Position Summary:
Assist Plant Supervisors in producing high quality products and operating in a safe/efficient manner for both personnel and products.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
  • Connect, sanitize, and start-up all production equipment.
  • Based on in-process results, produce products within desired specification ranges.
  • Support all quality programs.
  • Guide personnel activities to achieve product and plant goals.
  • Maintain licenses and certifications as required.
Key Activities:
  • Operate Silo Room equipment and know proper connections.
  • Operate HTST and know proper connections.
  • Operate all make room equipment.
  • Know quality standards related to start-up.
  • Know all general labor key activities.
  • Monitor plant and product metrics against goals.
  • Support all plant quality programs.
  • Help develop and train hourly production staff.
  • Complete all master sanitation schedule duties as assigned.
  • Assist the cheesemaker in all aspects of cheese production.
  • Work effectively as a team player.
  • Positive attitude and willing to follow instructions.
  • Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality
  • Ability to stay late intel all production/sanitation is completed work overtime, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • All other duties as assigned by supervisor.

  • Knowledge and completion of master sanitation schedule activities.
  • Pursuance of related industry certifications.

Necessary Experience:
  • Previous experience in cheesemaking industry.
  • Knowledge of internal equipment and procedures.

WORK ENVIROMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Production roles are performed in a food manufacturing environment and require strict adherence to food safety, quality, and workplace safety standards, including use of required PPE. Employees may work in areas with variable temperatures, machinery noise, and exposure to food ingredients and sanitation chemicals. The role requires standing or walking for extended periods, performing repetitive tasks, and regularly lifting up to 25-35 pounds (occasionally up to 50 pounds with assistance).
