Title:
Social Media & Photography Specialist
Status:
Part-time, non-exempt, hourly, support staff
Location:
Onsite
Purpose:
To assist the Communications Team in photographing the life of Calvary Church and leveraging those images and other visual content across social media platforms to authentically represent and extend the church's ministry.
Working Relationship:
Accountable to the Board of Elders through the Senior Pastor with direct supervision by the Director of Communications & Technology. A member of the Support Staff and appropriate teams as assigned (e.g. Communication, et. Al.).
Qualification:
  • Educational qualifications require a minimum of a High School diploma with preferences for undergraduate degree in communications or similar field
  • Experience in photography and photo editing, with a strong eye for composition
  • Proficiency in social media platforms and scheduling tools
  • Experience with Adobe Lightroom and/or Photoshop for photo editing
  • Familiarity with short-form video capture and editing (Reels content) preferred
  • Competency in visual design for social media - Canva or Adobe Express experience
  • An ability to be a team-player within the staff and teams of volunteers
  • Protect the reputation and integrity of others through strict confidentiality. Demonstrate a high level of trust.

  • Must be a professing Christian who affirms the Calvary Church doctrinal basis, vision and values and philosophy of ministry
  • Must regularly attend Calvary Church

Responsibilities
  • Upload, organize, and manage online media including Sermons and Podcasts
  • Lead social media content creation, planning, and scheduling for main church profiles as well as Young Adults, Students, and Calvary Kids
  • Capture photos and short-form video at services and ministry events (Sunday AM, Tuesday PM, Wednesday PM, and others as needed)
  • Edit, maintain, and organize photo library
  • Coordinate photography scheduling with ministry teams
  • Manage and update digital signage throughout campus, ensuring content reflects current events and announcements

General Support Staff Responsibilities
  • Strive to uphold the Staff Commitment
  • Be involved and invested in appropriate staff meetings and staff events
  • Collaborate with the Communications Team in developing goals, budgets, and reports
  • Pray for the ministry of the church and represent the church positively in the community
  • Be an active participant of Calvary Church's corporate worship service
  • Serve in other areas as requested by the Supervisor or Senior Pastor

Work Schedule and Time Allotment
Work schedule: part-time, flexible related to programs and projects.
Potential weekend responsibilities
To be managed and accounted for in cooperation with designated supervisor.
Physical and Mental Requirements
Light physical work requirements (lifting 10-20 lbs.), sitting, prolonged standing, potential reaching, climbing, prolonged positioning under hot bright lights, occasionally outside in differing weather conditions and prolonged looking at monitors and computer screens
and operating a mouse and keyboard. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Creative thinking, conceptual, collaborative, and listening skills. Must be able to present ideas and allow for adoption, adaptation or elimination of those ideas.
