We are seeking a driven individual who is eager to learn, contribute, and grow within a fast-paced hospitality-focused property organization. Tobacco Road Golf Club is seeking an energetic, service-driven, and highly organized Assistant Golf Professional to join our golf operations team.
Tobacco Road is a nationally recognized, high-volume public golf facility with a reputation built on exceptional golf, memorable guest experiences, and a distinctive culture. The Assistant Golf Professional will play an important role in delivering that experience every day while supporting the Director of Golf in the operation and leadership of the Golf Department.

POSITION OVERVIEW
The Assistant Golf Professional will assist with the daily operation of the Golf Department, including tee sheet management, guest services, outside operations, merchandise, and staff leadership.
The ideal candidate is energetic, approachable, organized, and confident, with a genuine passion for hospitality and the game of golf. This person should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where attention to detail, communication, and consistency are critical.
The Assistant Golf Professional will be expected to lead by example and consistently uphold the service standards and brand expectations of Tobacco Road Golf Club.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Golf Operations
  • Assist with the daily management and execution of golf operations.
  • Provide an exceptional arrival, check-in, and overall guest experience.
  • Manage and monitor tee sheets, including pace of play, pairings, cancellations, and guest requests.
  • Assist with daily opening and closing procedures.
  • Coordinate effectively with the starter, outside operations, golf shop, maintenance, and food & beverage teams.
  • Monitor course conditions and communicate relevant information to guests and staff.
  • Assist with maintaining efficient pace of play and overall course flow.
  • Ensure golf operations policies and procedures are consistently followed.

Guest Experience & Service
  • Deliver warm, professional, and personalized service to every guest.
  • Anticipate guest needs and proactively resolve issues.
  • Handle guest concerns professionally and efficiently while protecting the standards of the club.
  • Maintain a visible presence around the golf shop, first tee, practice areas, and other guest-facing areas.
  • Represent Tobacco Road Golf Club with professionalism both on and off the property.

Golf Shop & Merchandise
  • Assist with daily golf shop operations and merchandising.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing retail environment.
  • Assist with receiving, pricing, displaying, and replenishing merchandise.
  • Support inventory management and inventory counts.
  • Help create a retail environment that reflects the Tobacco Road brand.

Staff Leadership
  • Help train, mentor, and motivate golf professional and outside operations staff.
  • Lead by example and establish a strong culture of accountability and hospitality.
  • Assist with staff scheduling and daily assignments.
  • Conduct staff training on service standards, golf operations, tee sheet procedures, and guest interaction.
  • Help ensure staff members understand and consistently execute departmental policies and procedures.
  • Step into a leadership role when the Director of Golf or Head Golf Professional is unavailable.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • PGA of America membership or active PGA Associate preferred.
  • Previous experience in golf operations at a high-volume public, resort, or private golf facility preferred.
  • Strong understanding of tee sheet management and golf operations.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Previous golf retail/merchandising experience preferred.
  • Comfortable working with golf technology and point-of-sale systems.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be willing to work weekends, holidays, early mornings, and extended hours during peak periods.
