About Us:

Flytrex is revolutionizing suburban on-demand delivery from the skies up, literally. As the leading drone delivery company in the U.S., we’re scaling our operations across Dallas–Fort Worth, bringing ultrafast, on-demand delivery to doorsteps via autonomous aircraft.


About the role:

The Remote Pilot In Command supports the research and development efforts of an end-to-end drone delivery system. In his role, the RPIC will support the daily operational duties located at the Flytrex Flight Test Facility. This is a full-time, on-site position.


The RPIC will have a full understanding of CFR 14 Part 107 regulations and will ensure operations are compliant with all local, state, and federal regulations. Each crew member must explicitly follow safety and operational protocols, while possessing characteristics of integrity and trustworthiness. 


What You’ll Do:

  • Perform aircraft maintenance and ensures operational status of all required equipment.
  • Perform aircraft R&D functions and testing
  • Document daily flight activities and flight logs.
  • Conduct operations following strict procedures and checklists.
  • Deconflict ground and air risks based on CFR 14 Part 107 during all operations.
  • Operate system in compliance with CFR 14 Part 107
  • Provide customer support to current and future partner operators.
  • Assist with the improvement and efficiencies of current operations.
  • Perform public outreach using various means.
  • Perform collateral duties as required.
  • Apply technical knowledge and problem solving skills to determine root cause events.


Requirements:

  • A Part 107 Certificate to commercially operate sUAS
  • Proficiency in standard Microsoft office software suites applications.
  • Good organization and communication skills, both oral and written, are essential to success in this position. Can develop and deliver clear, concise communications.
  • Must be able to work effectively in a highly dynamic team environment
  • High School Education or GED Equivalent
  • Valid Driver’s License – Subject to driving record history check prior to employment


Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (or In-Progress)
  • One (1) to two (2) years’ experience working with RPA or UAS
  • CFI/Commercial Manned Pilot
  • Familiarity with AP/Pixhawk
  • Private Pilot

Work Environment

This job operates in outdoor environments including inclement and hot weather, extreme-cold conditions in addition to limited office work. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, radio, equipment, and telephones.


Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to operate a vehicle. He or she performs the tasks of this duty and is required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit for extended periods of time; run; stand; walk; use hands to, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.


Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, and general hours of work and days are Monday through Friday.

Travel is local to the position location.
