Job description

J&J Powder Coatings is seeking a dedicated and reliable Material Handler/Shop Assistant to join our team. As a Material Handler, you will play a crucial role in the daily operations of our facility, ensuring the efficient movement and storage of materials, as well as providing general shop assistance. We are willing to train the right person who possesses a strong work ethic and a desire to learn.

  • 1st Shift: 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM | Monday – Thursday
    • Perk: Enjoy a consistent 3-day weekend!
  • 2nd Shift: 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM | Friday – Sunday
    • Perk: Work 3 days, get 4 days off!
    • Shift pay for a full 40hrs

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate a forklift to move and transport materials within the facility, adhering to safety protocols.
  • Prepare and hang products for powder coating
  • Assist with the palletizing and organization of products to ensure proper storage and inventory management.
  • Load and unload trucks, verifying the accuracy of incoming and outgoing shipments.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring adherence to safety standards and regulations.
  • Assist with general shop duties as needed, including but not limited to: equipment maintenance, packaging, and quality control checks.
  • Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate tasks and achieve production goals.

Qualifications:

  • Previous forklift operating experience preferred; however, we are willing to train the right candidate.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Punctuality and attendance are a must
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
