Job Title: Machine Operator
Employment Type: Temp-to-Hire
Location: Gray Court, SC
Pay: $19.00 per hour (1st Shift) | $21.00 per hour (3rd Shift)
Schedule: 12-hour rotating shifts | 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Job Summary:
Allegiance Staffing is seeking experienced Slitter Operators for a growing manufacturing company in Gray Court, SC. The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of machine operating experience, strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to operate and maintain slitter equipment in a climate-controlled production environment. This role is responsible for producing quality finished goods according to customer specifications while supporting safe, efficient, and continuous production operations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform set-up, start-up, and shut-down of Slitter machines according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Operate Slitter equipment to produce finished goods according to customer specifications under the direction of the Team Lead or Production Manager
• Set up slitter equipment according to process standards using touchscreen PLC systems
• Perform thread-up procedures for Slitter operations
• Verify completion of shift hoist inspections
• Operate winder/slitter hoist to load unit rolls and remove empty mandrels
• Handle, package, and inspect finished slit rolls
• Monitor Slitter machine performance while in run mode
• Operate shaft extractor equipment
• Manage and support the work of Packaging Operators
• Lead and complete shift clean-up activities for Slitter operations
• Communicate effectively with incoming and outgoing Slitter Operators to ensure proper shift handoff
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and assist with problem-solving efforts
• Provide coverage and support during absences of other shift technicians
Required Qualifications:
• 18 years of age or older
• 3+ years of machine operator experience preferred
• Experience operating manufacturing equipment in a production environment
• Ability to read and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards
• Ability to work a 12-hour rotating shift schedule
• Ability to work independently and as part of a production team
Preferred Qualifications:
• Previous Slitter Operator or converting equipment experience
• Experience with PLC-controlled machinery
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills
• Manufacturing, production, or industrial equipment experience
• Experience in a continuous improvement environment
