Job description

Job Title: Operator Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Operator Technician with the potential to advance into a Maintenance Technician role. Initially, you will start as a Finish Technician, setting up machines and being the first responder to machine malfunctions within a specific department. Your role will involve setting up finishing machines, troubleshooting and repairing issues to a certain extent, and collaborating with Maintenance Technicians to solve complex problems. You will also guide other operators to prevent repetitive machine errors and oversee all equipment in your department.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate finishing machines.
  • Respond promptly to machine malfunctions.
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment issues, escalating to Maintenance Technicians as needed.
  • Collaborate with Maintenance Technicians to develop troubleshooting skills.
  • Educate and guide operators to avoid repetitive machine errors.
  • Monitor equipment including hydraulic/pneumatic pumps, spray guns, hoses, conveyors, elevators, ovens, sealers, sanders, and more.
  • Communicate effectively via radio calls.
  • Work overtime and assist in other areas when necessary.

Essential Skills

  • Strong mechanical aptitude.

  • Ability to work in high temperatures and with paint/stain fumes.
