Job Summary:
As a Base Operations Officer, you are responsible for receiving incident information and producing accurate, timely documentation that captures the who, what, when, where, and why of each event. You support incident reporting workflows by collecting details, confirming facts, and communicating clearly with dispatch and security leadership. You will also spend up to 40% of your time working as an Event Security Officer, supporting screening, access control, and venue safety.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Incident Intake & Report Writing (40%)
  • Receive incident information from radio, phone, text, and in-person contacts and capture complete details (who/what/when/where/why)
  • Document incidents with accuracy, clarity, and professionalism, using appropriate tone and objective language
  • Ask effective follow-up questions to confirm facts and reduce ambiguity while remaining respectful and calm
  • Ensure reports are completed within event timelines and meet department standards for completeness

Event Security Officer Support (30%)
  • Assist with patron screening at entry, including bag search technique and hand-wand metal detection when assigned
  • Support access control by monitoring credentials and restricting entry to sensitive or restricted areas as directed
  • Maintain a professional, guest-first demeanor while supporting safety, security, and order
  • Remain prepared for posts that require extended standing and may be outdoors in varying weather conditions

Communication & Dispatch Support (20%)
  • Communicate accurate incident details to dispatch and leadership to support timely response and proper resource routing
  • Maintain radio discipline and clear communication practices during high-volume periods
  • Support multiple concurrent incidents by prioritizing documentation and information flow without sacrificing accuracy

Quality, Compliance & Team Collaboration (10%)
  • Follow internal policies and procedures for documentation, confidentiality, and incident handling
  • Collaborate effectively with Security, Guest Experience, and other departments to support a consistent guest experience
  • Accept feedback from Captains/Coaches and implement improvements to report quality and timeliness

Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Read, write, and speak English fluently
  • Must be able to pass a background check
  • Strong written communication skills with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to use phones, radios, and basic office systems; comfort learning incident/reporting tools as assigned
  • Ability to use security screening tools/processes (bag checks, hand wand metal detector, ID verification scanner)
  • Calm, professional demeanor in high-pressure environments; ability to multitask without losing efficiency or composure
  • Clear verbal communication skills and ability to ask direct, respectful follow-up questions
  • Strong judgment and discretion when handling sensitive information
  • Team-first mindset and willingness to flex into frontline roles for extended periods
  • Flexible schedule; able to work late hours, weekends, long nights, and holidays based on the event calendar
  • Reliable transportation

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior experience writing incident reports or working in dispatch/communications
  • Prior experience in sports/entertainment venues or other high-volume public settings
  • Familiarity with security screening or access control processes
