Job Description
Summary of Position: Do you thrive on the line, plating up delicious dishes in a fast-paced, high-energy environment with waterfront views? Big Chill Island House in North Myrtle Beach is seeking passionate Line Cooks who can execute flavorful, consistent dishes with finesse. Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Execute menu items with precision, following established recipes and plating standards.
  • Prepare and cook a variety of items including meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables, and starches using grills, fryers, broilers, ovens, and more.
  • Ensure proper plate presentation and garnish setup.
  • Stock and maintain line stations to ensure smooth service periods.
  • Communicate effectively with expo, servers, and fellow line cooks to ensure seamless service.
  • Work in sync with the kitchen crew to maintain a clean, organized, and efficient line.
  • Adhere strictly to food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Assist with closing procedures and follow checklists for your station.
  • Thrive under pressure and adapt to the pace of a busy kitchen.
  • Occasionally assist with light prep during off-peak periods.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Kitchen Manager or Manager On Duty
  • Live the brand and be a brand ambassador; make decisions in the best interest of the business at all times

Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of full-service restaurant kitchen experience desired
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must have reliable transportation to/from work
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States
  • Must be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 6 hours).
  • Must be able to stand, reach, bend, squat, and lift during shift
  • Must possess a friendly, hardworking demeanor with a passion for hospitality and providing top-notch guest service
  • Strong communication skills and ability to communicate with individuals from diverse backgrounds
  • Strong organizational and time management skills; must possess ability to be organized in a changing environment
